On Wednesday 22 November 2017, the Quantum Technology Hub for Sensors and Metrology took part in the the third National Quantum Technologies Showcase 2017 and broadcasters from the BBC came along to investigate the technology on display.

The showcase, hosted by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and held at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London, attracted over 500 guests from academia, industry and government partners. The event demonstrated the technological progress arising from the £270m UK National Quantum Technologies Programme, its relevance to commercial sectors and the collaborative nature of the programme.

Crew from BBC Click, a weekly BBC television programme covering news and recent developments in the world of consumer technology, attended the event to discuss quantum computing.

The Networked Quantum Information Technologies Hub (NQIT) quantum computing research was featured in the programme, alongside footage of exhibitions by the Quantum Technologies Hub for Sensors and Metrology.
